A New Method of Heat Detection

SPYKE-GS is the world’s first autonomous, satellite-connected fire detection system, powered by patented
Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) technology.

SPYKE-GS activates at preset heat thresholds, instantly sending an alert via satellite—
without electricity, external batteries, or local networks.

  • SPYKE-GS delivers instant fire protection in places too costly, too complex, or simply impossible for conventional systems to cover.

  • With a 10+ year lifespan and no maintenance requirements, SPYKE-GS provides always-on fire safety wherever you need it.

  • Cladding: SPYKE-GS is the only satellite-monitored fire detection system. This infinitely expandable fire detection matrix is ideal for both new and retrofit cladding fire protection.

  • Builder’s Risk: SPYKE-GS delivers early heat detection to stop hot work fires before they spread—providing job sites with immediate, power-free protection that reduces losses, lowers premiums, and closes a critical gap where no coverage existed before.

How it works

Key features

  • Power-Free Operation: No grid connection, external batteries, or rewiring needed.

  • Autonomous Heat Activation: SMA triggers an alert at preset temperatures.

  • Satellite Connectivity: module transmits alerts almost anywhere on Earth (except the North and South Poles).

  • Durable Design: Corrosion-resistant, tamper-proof, and built for harsh conditions.

  • Long Life: 10+ years of continuous reliability.

  • Universal Application: From construction sites to ships at sea.

How Spyke-GS communicates

  1. Heat Detection at the Source

    1. Each SPYKE-GS unit continuously monitors its environment for dangerous heat levels. When the preset temperature is reached, the Shape Memory Alloy mechanism triggers activation—no power or external batteries required.

  2. Satellite Transmission

    1. Upon activation, SPYKE-GS engages its integrated GlobalStar SmartOneC IoT module. This module transmits a secure, real-time signal to the nearest GlobalStar low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite.

  3. Data Relay via Satellite Network**

    1. The GlobalStar constellation relays the SPYKE-GS alert to ground stations worldwide. From there, the alert is routed through GlobalStar’s secure data infrastructure, ensuring near-global coverage (except the polar regions).

  4. Alert Delivery to End Users**

    1. The transmitted alert can be delivered directly to:

      1. SMS/email notifications

      2. Facility managers, insurers, or safety teams

      3. Enterprise monitoring systems (via API integration)
